Exploring the Wicklow Mountains

Hello again,

This is the second day of the Ireland tour I went on with UK Study Tours. On the second day, you had the choice of spending a second day in Dublin or going on a Wicklow Mounatin tour. I chose the later.

We gathered at 9:15, after a filling breakfast at the hotel. The drive to the Mountain was very scenic!

The first stop along our trip to the mountains was to Glendalough Monastic Site. On our way there, we passed though the original Hollywood (the town the LA Hollywood was named after).

Round Tower

The Cathedral

St. Kieran's Church

St. Kevin's Kitchen

Next stop: Glenmacnass Waterfall

Glendalough "The Valley of two Lakes"

The last stop was at the Powerscourt Estate

This location is definitely worth a visit. You can explore their gardens, grab a bite to eat in the restaurant, or do some shopping in the Avoca shops, a popular Irish store.

Upon return to the hotel, the evening was spent in Portlaoise, where we had dinner and went to hear some music in an Irish pub.
